What is Change request?

Change request is a written proposal to alter agreed scope, timing, outputs or assumptions, priced and accepted by both sides before the altered work begins.

Why it matters

Changes are normal in service work, but silent changes create mismatched expectations. A recorded request gives both sides one place to see the proposed effect. It also keeps the original work moving while the added decision is considered.

How to use it

  1. Record the requested change in one clear sentence.
  2. Compare it with the current scope and assumptions.
  3. Describe the effect on price, dates and deliverables.
  4. Wait for a clear decision before doing the changed work.
