What is Fixed price quote?
Fixed price quote is a stated total price for a defined scope and set of assumptions, rather than a charge based on the hours eventually worked.
Why it matters
A fixed price gives the client a clear total for the described job. It works best when inputs, outputs and review rounds are specific enough to estimate. If the scope stays vague, the certainty of the number can hide uncertainty in the work.
How to use it
- Define the complete scope before setting the total.
- State the assumptions used to estimate the work.
- Include revision limits and delivery dependencies.
- Describe how requests outside the quote will be handled.
