OfferForBusiness Glossary
What is Scope of work?
Scope of work is the written boundary of a service, stating the tasks, outputs, responsibilities and limits included in the quoted price.
Why it matters
A clear scope gives the client a concrete picture of what they are buying. It also gives you a reference when a later request changes the job. Without that boundary, two people can read the same price and expect different amounts of work.
How to use it
- List every task you will complete for the quoted price.
- Name each output the client will receive.
- Assign client inputs and decisions to clear stages.
- Remove any wording that could imply unlimited work.
