What is Work acceptance?

Work acceptance is the agreed process for checking a deliverable against stated criteria and confirming that the planned work is complete.

Why it matters

Acceptance gives a project a visible finishing point. It helps the client review against the offer instead of introducing a new preference at the final handoff. Clear criteria also tell you what evidence or files to present with the completed work.

How to use it

  1. Write observable criteria for each main deliverable.
  2. Set the time available for the client to review it.
  3. Name the person who can confirm acceptance.
  4. Explain how genuine defects will be reported and corrected.

OfferForBusiness helps you review whether completion has a clear test. The free preview can point out where acceptance still depends on an unstated expectation.
